Yeah it's about time I write about a movie someone has heard about. It'll be my quick take on Se7en (such a gimmicky way to spell it).
It's difficult to say too much about the movie without spoiling it, similar to revealing that Rosebud is a sled and soylent green is people. Sorry, couldn't help myself. So the gist of the movie has Detectives Somerset, played by Morgan Freeman, and Mills, played by Brad Pitt. The duo try to find a killer that picks his victims by which of the seven deadly sins they've committed. For the most part, every way that they die is pretty creative, in a morbid sense that is.
I was glad I read Dante's Inferno and The Merchant of Venice beforehand. They're both heavily referenced as well as some other works I don't know, I wager. Contemporary horror really needs more intelligent films like this one. And all the actors are believable. Really, they better be, it's Freeman and Pitt we're talking about. If I had to nitpick it'd be that I saw the infamous ending coming a few minutes before it actually happened. Still, a very solid movie.

Excellent movie to post on. This is one of my favorite movies, and not because I think Brad Pitt is hot. The complexity of the plot, the script, and the acting was fantastic. But please don't stray too far from posting about movies that no one has heard of- maybe include some like Battle Royale (Japan) or High Tension. Some of the foreign horror films are actually much better than our own.
Well now that I know someone's reading them, then sure I'll keep posting foreign movies. Foreign horror is where it's at now isn't it?
I enjoyed Battle Royale too. Tomorrow I'll be watching The Eye if you've heard of that.
