My Spiel

My sister was the one to get me into movies, mainly talkies. Yes, obviously old movies. When I had my fair share of Orson Welles and Paulette Goddard, I started looking into sci-fi/horror films of the time. Plan 9 From Outer Space provided some campy laughs and Nosferatu creeped me out.

All of that eventually progressed to horror of the 60's and beyond. My sister, having watched mainly Hays Code certified films, wasn't too keen to any violence whatsoever. Naturally, this made me more interested in horror, just so I could describe how some poor sap in Dead Alive had his rib cage pulled out. (For desensitized clickers)

And so this leads me to this blog. What am I intending to do? Pretty simple. I just want to share some of my thoughts concerning horror in film, hopefully to some one's interest. With my extensive background in movies, I'll try my best to cover some of the old, the new, the popular, and those freaky, foreign films.

I don't want to limit my posts to reviews either. I mean, you've got Rotten Tomatoes, IMDB, and countless other sites for that. Right now I plan on doing some comparison between The Thing From Another World and John Carpenter's The Thing for one of my first posts. I have some more, but I'd appreciate any suggestions. I'll only have so many before I run out.
