Right away, I'm gonna say Jurassic Park definitely gave me nightmares when I was a child. I probably first saw this terrifying and exciting movie when I was about five or six and would never forget it. Although it's not your traditional horror movie, this film featured some of the most frightening dinosaur and chase sequences that filled anyone with panic. Whether or not a giant T'Rex eye appearing in the window of a car scares you or not, the surprise of this giant dinosaur slowly approaching can make any little kid pee their pants. The dinosaurs seem to even work on scale of justice punishing the villainous fat guy(Newman from Seinfeld) by spitting acid in his face. Even more frightening is when the guy on the toilet gets eaten alive. Scenes like those and anything involving a Velociraptor can keep a young one up at night for hours. I can't tell you the countless dream I had about dinosaurs devouring me alive after that. Nowadays i watch that movie I smile and don't view it as a horror, but instead a reflection of my childhood and cherish it fully. The movie itself contained a very good plot and back story of how the dinosaurs were brought back with genetic coding. It also contained, what appeared to be a popular element of 90s movies, two stupid kids that screw everything up and end up shuffling through a kitchen with raptors chasing them. By the end of the movie you feel complete and accomplished with your dinosaur experience. Steven Spielberg directed this movie and a sequel called The Lost World: Jurassic Park in 1997 which I just felt didn't have the emotion you felt towards the characters in the first one. Interestingly a less popular Jurassic Park III came out in 2001 which was directed by Spielberg which I suppose he felt he was already pushing his luck with his sequel. If you really like these movies see all three, but make sure to see the first Jurassic Park sometime before it becomes too outdated with it's at the time cutting edge special effects. I want to try and make little multiple part segments like this one and hopefully they stir up some good reflection on true horror.

see i do not really consider Jurassic Park a horror movie. it is one of my favorite all time movies, but it just is not scary. it is more exciting and just fun to watch than anything. the things that tend to scare me are those that i could actually see happening. and i just don't believe that they can make a dinosaur theme park...to wrap it up i love the movie, it is not scary.
Thanks, yeah i kinda intended it to be like its scary when ur a kid but definately more of an exciting/fun movie when your older.
